Andhra Pradesh CM, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched cybercrime awareness programme ‘E-Raksha Bandhan’

On July 3, 2020, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched a one-month long virtual cybercrime awareness programme ‘E-Raksha Bandhan’ in Amaravati. 

The Aim of the Programme is to create awareness among women, youth and children on Cyber Crimes across the state.

It is organized by the Andhra Pradesh Police, CID, FM Radio, Cyber Crime Prevention Against Women and Children (CCPWC), Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF) and other organisations.

About the programme:

i.The participants will be explained different types of cybercrimes, and tacking techniques and alarm raising methods though the awareness programme.

ii.More than 1 lakh women and the general public would be trained under this programme up to August 31, 2020.

iii.Webinars, workshops, debates, essay writing, quiz and slogan writing competitions will be conducted every day on different topics from 11 a.m. to 12 noon every day during the programme.

iv.The Andhra Pradesh police and state CID publicised a slogan “Let us make August a month of e freedom and e-safety.”

Other participants of the programme:

Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha, A.P. Women Commission Chairperson Vasireddy Padma, Director General of Police (DGP) D. Gautam Sawang, Additional DG (CID) P.V. Sunil Kumar and other officials attended the programme.

Other info:

i.The Disha Police Stations of the state completed investigation on 167 cases relating to crime against women and chargesheets have been filed in the courts.

ii.The victims of the state were asked to complain through Disha APP and in Disha Police Stations on harassment and cybercrimes.
